Right At School Transition FAQs
Before & After School Care Is Returning to SCC!
Sylvania Community Services and Right At School have worked together to plan a thoughtful transition for the upcoming school year. As Sylvania Community Services has grown and strengthened over the past few years, we are now in a position to bring the program back in-house. This approach allows Sylvania Community Services to provide greater consistency for families while continuing to invest directly in programs that serve the Sylvania community.
When will this change take place?
Sylvania Community Services will begin operating Sylvania Kids Club, our before and after school care program, for the 2026–2027 school year.
Do I need to re-enroll my child?
Yes. All families will need to complete a new registration with Sylvania Community Services for the 2026–2027 school year.
Will staff remain the same?
Familiar staff members will have the opportunity to continue with the program. We are prioritizing continuity for children and families wherever possible.
Will pricing change?
Program rates and payment details are currently being finalized and will be shared on our website and directly with families prior to enrollment opening. Our goal is to ensure pricing remains competitive and accessible for families.
Will you accept Job & Family Services (JFS) childcare assistance?
Yes. Sylvania Community Services will continue working with families utilizing childcare assistance programs.
Will snacks be provided?
Yes. Daily snacks will continue to be provided in after school and full-day programming.
What about summer camp?
Right At School will continue operating Summer Camp 2026 for school-age programming.
Sylvania Community Services will begin operating before and after school programming for the 2026–2027 school year and will also offer summer programming in 2027. In addition, Sylvania Community Services currently offers summer programming through Marshall Child Care.
Will before and after school care still be available at my child’s school?
Yes. Programming will continue at all elementary schools currently served.
How do I enroll?
Families who complete the Interest Form receive enrollment details and registration access.
Enrollment will be completed online through our Brightwheel system. Families who complete the interest form will receive enrollment instructions, program details, and registration access prior to enrollment opening.
Will program hours change?
Programming hours will remain consistent with current before and after school schedules.
What if my work schedule changes from week to week?
We understand that many families work in professions with varying schedules. Our goal is to provide flexibility whenever possible.
Families may request schedule changes with at least three business days’ notice, and our team will work to accommodate those changes based on staffing and program availability.

About Kids Club
BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL CARE FOR GRADES K-5
Opening for the 2026-2027 School Year
Sylvania Kids Club, a program of Sylvania Community Services, provides a safe, nurturing, and fun before and after school educational care environment for children in kindergarten through 5th grade. Operating at all seven Sylvania elementary schools and Marshall Child Care, Sylvania Kids Club offers convenient, flexible scheduling.
Summer camp, winter break camp, spring break camp, and school closure care are available at our Maplewood and Marshall Child Care locations for all students in grades K-5.
