Fee Assistance Program

Available for 60+ Sylvania School District Residents and aims to provide financial assistance for Sylvania Senior Center programs that promote healthy aging. This program is strictly confidential. Call 419.885.3913 for an appointment.

Golden Buckeye Card

Participation in the Golden Buckeye Program is free. Ohio residents who are 60 years and older and adults 18 - 59 years old who have a permanent disability and cannot work are eligible. Applications are available in the office.

Home Energy Assistance Program (H.E.A.P.)

Assistance with rising heating costs. Applications and income levels for eligibility are available in the office.

Home Maintenance Program

Available to Sylvania City and Township residents 60+ who need assistance with minor repair jobs. Services are provided by individuals who have passed a federal criminal background check and interview process before being brought into the program. Legal Outreach

Free eldercare legal services, sponsored by Gallon, Takacs & Boissoneault Co., L.P.A. Second Tuesday of the month, by appointment. Call Sylvania Senior Center at 419.885.3913 for an appointment with a representative

Mobile Meals of Toledo

This home-delivered meal program provides daily meals in 2 weekly deliveries to area residents and provides wellness checks. The cost of meals is based on income, and some insurances are accepted. Call 419.255.7806 or click here to apply online.

Ohio Living Will and Healthcare Power of Attorney

“Advance Directive” is a general term referring to a person’s verbal and written instructions about future medical care if the person becomes unable to speak for him or herself. Forms are available in the office.

Participant Council

The Participant Council is an organized group of Sylvania Senior Center participants who volunteer and work with the staff to assist the Sylvania Senior Center in achieving its goals. Any participant currently registered at the Senior Center is automatically a member of the Participant Council and has voting rights. Officers are elected annually. Quarterly meetings will be held on a Friday with the Booster Club Breakfast. Participant Council activities are varied and help raise funds for the Center.
